In order to offer the best possible value to competitors at our events and coaching, ITCA (GBR) relies almost entirely upon the efforts of volunteers. As the Topper is now mainly sailed by junior and youth sailors (though we welcome adults too!), there is inevitably a continuous turnover of parents who are able to assist the class. There are always
opportunities to help at both local and National events – just contact any committee member or [email protected] to find out more – you will probably be surprised how much reward you can achieve from helping the friendly class.

| The International Topper Class Association in Great Britain is administered through areas. Each area has a representative who is responsible for the co-ordination of training and events within their area. They also represent the area on the National Committee. For those of you new to Toppers, the areas offer open training and a regional race series know as the Travellers. These consist of open events hosted by clubs throughout the region held between spring and the autumn each year. If you're wanting to get more involved in racing then the open training and traveller series are an ideal starting point. You'll find your fellow Topper travellers friendly and helpful, and there'll be plenty of encouragement to join in. To find out more about what is happening in your area visit the relevant Area Page using the links at the top of the page. If your home and club are in different areas then the choice is down to your own preference. ITCA (GBR) Areas generally coincide with RYA Zones. An exception is the ITCA (GBR) Midlands Area, which is at present divided for RYA training purposes between two Zones, West and North. South West - Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Avon, Gloucestershire,Wiltshire, Dorset (less Poole Harbour), Channel Islands Southern - Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Dorset (Poole Harbour only), West Sussex (Chichester Harbour only) South East - Greater London, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex (less Chichester Harbour) Midlands (West Zone) - Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Shropshire Midlands (North Zone) - Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland Eastern - Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire North West - Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Isle of Man North East - Northumberland, Durham, Yorkshire Wales - All counties Scotland - All counties | ![]() | |
